These two are, in a word, precious. It was a perfect Saturday morning to roam around Starkville and capture a special moment in Sam and Nate's lives. I'm so thankful to be able to document their engagement! Here are some of my favorites.

This was a blast. I've never seen someone more excited to be in front of a camera than this guy. From the beautiful backdrop of a local quarry, to running across some old friends, to Bryan jumping around and owning this place as his own personal playground, I'd say it made for quite an entertaining afternoon. I also really enjoyed photographing these shots of him in a friend's backyard. I'm ready for sweater weather to be here to stay!

Friends, meet Ms. Courtney Hill. Gorgeous, isn't she? This photo session was fun filled in every single way. And while she may not have the pouty lips look down like Shane West, she's still absolutely fabulous and the camera l o v e s her! Every day I am blessed by her friendship.

Wow.. Nashville weekend came and went so quickly! We experienced more on this day in this incredible city than we have thus far. Falan graciously took us up into her humble abode and showed us around her new stomping grounds. We got our pacake on at the Pancake Pantry (a MUST for anyone visiting the area) followed by window shopping where I picked up a $2 copy of "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis from this quaint (and bursting at the seams) used book shop.
CREMA on Hermitage Street was a must go to for me personally- and it was a sight to see. Probably the cutest little coffee shoppe I've ever been in, with the nicest people!
From there we checked out Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. The grounds are expansive and featured a really neat tree house exhibit. There were around seven tree houses all of which were inspired by various literary novels. My favorite (shown below) was designed and inspired by "The Giver" by Louis Lowry.
"Things could change... Things could be different. I don't know how, but there must be some way for things to be different. There could be colors."
We ventured next to The Parthenon, a scale model of that in Greece at a local park in downtown Nashville.
And lastly (and most excitingly), we took a tour down Broadway home to Nashville's country music venues and every boot and hat shop imaginable. This is proof of those wanderings.
What a joy to experience this place with two of the most fantastic people I know! :)

The very last night we spent at in the Outer Banks, Josh and I were sure to make a trip down to the Avon Pier. Such a fun place to sightsee (not mention walking distance from the beach house) and snap a few photos. Below is the product of our way of wrapping up a relaxing and happy week. Until next year!

It was bonfire night- a night full of roasting marshmallows, chill tunes and just relaxing to the sounds of the crashing ocean waves that surrounded us. There's nothing quite like glow of a fire at dusk. The little guy below is my younger brother, John.

We took an impromptu trip to Nashville a couple of weekends back to pick up the keys to Falan's new apartment (!!) and were lucky enough to catch one of my recently favorited bands Sucre play a show at 12th and Porter. An awesome venue that lends to a personal concert experience, not to mention the vibes from this band were extraordinary. I loved being this up close and personal to both Stacy King (of Eisley) and Darren King (of Mutemath), and had a blast snapping these shots. Looking forward to more Nashville exploring in the near future!

I was excited to receive a package from Blood Water Mission the other day. This group is one I admire ardently and who are doing amazing works in empowering third world countries in fighting against the AIDS and water crisis. Check them out here bloodwatermission.com. They are an incredible organization with a vision very close to my heart and whom I also hope to intern for someday in the very near future.
"But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:14

"But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach (purely and solemnly express Him) him among the Gentiles.." Galatians 1:15-16
"The call of God is not a call to serve Him in any particular way. My contact with the nature of God will shape my understanding of His call and will help me realize what I truly desire to do for Him... Service is the overflow of which pours from a life filled with love and devotion... Service is what I bring to the relationship and is the reflection of my identification with the nature of God... Service is an expression of my nature, and God's call is an expression of His nature... The Son of God reveals Himself in me, and out of devotion to Him service becomes my everyday way of life." - Chambers

I found this little lady at a local dirt cheap thrift store for - get this - only $15! I was so excited when I first saw it and wondered to myself just how many people must have passed it up before I came along. What a treat for a lomo lover like myself to be able to pick it up! I bought a plastic fisheye lomo a couple of years back and have definitely had my share of fun with it. All I need is some film and I'm ready to go.. photos to come.

Some food for thought..
As the Christmas and New Years holiday and festivities come to an end, I find myself  thinking of resolutions for this next year.
  1. Smile often
  2. Develop a discipline and stick to a running schedule. Get fit and do it for me.
  3. Go on a roadtrip
  4. Take more pictures!
  5. Stick to THIS.
  6. Learn to play a full song on piano. Maybe
  7. Volunteer. More!
  8. Have a hand in bringing another closer to Christ
